POSITION DESCRIPTION:
- Provides expert advice and assistance to design, construction, and maintenance engineers and operating personnel on all matters pertaining to the Instrumentation/Control field.
- Troubleshoot, calibrate, repair and reports for instrumentation system, microprocessor based systems and digital systems.
- Prepare and review plans, designs of instrumentation systems, microprocessor based systems and digital systems.
- Work as Aramco’s representative in dealings with vendors and manufacturers.
- Reviews existing operations to determine potential problems and remedies to existing problems.
- Prepares standards and specifications to be used for procurement of new and replacement plant equipment.
- Prepares design manuals or other documentation for use by other engineers in the solution of complex and unusual problems in the Instrumentation/Control field.
- Reviews and evaluates the capabilities of vendors and contractors to determine their acceptability to perform major services to Saudi Aramco.
- Have frequent contacts with all levels of management within Projects Management, Construction and Operations Organizations to discuss and resolve complex engineering problems.
- Project support with respect to defining the scope, conduct design reviews for compliance with industry standards, and the inspection and commissioning of new instrumentaion controllers and devices such as PLC, DDC ,BMS system and FT, PT, TT
- Partispate in review design packages of major capital BI projects for Saudi Aramco as required and support project execution & MCC. Additionally, perform technical evalution of major equipment, devices, control systems submittals by vendors.
- Assist and direct Maintenance technicians in troubleshooting instrumentaion and control equipment related problems such as with PLC, DDC, BMS, communcations, control valves,
- Participate with investigation teams for the analysis of individual equipment or system failures.
- Acts as CSTSD/Company representative in dealings with vendors, manufacturers, and different Industrial Relation Depts. and be able to travel and do the required field assessment.
- Perform the required assessment needed, check and evaluate of the equipment condition.
- Formulates the basis for an engineering study or project or design in any basic or special engineering field by analyzing and evaluating all data pertinent to assignment. Evaluates data as to scope, effect on existing installation, economic value, long range planning and budgetary considerations.
- Provide technical support to contractor’s works during construction phase.
- Support project execution & initiates detailed work outline.
- Must work on both analog and digital instrumentation/controls including DCS, PLC, BMS, DDC and SCADA digital systems. Must be familiar with latest ISA and communication standards and protocols.
COMMENTS:
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor of Science in Electroincs or instrumentaion/control System Engineering/Engineering Techonolgy from a recognized university.
- Must be knowledgeable of engineering practice and economic principles, calculation methods, design details, International Codes,Standards and Specifications.
- Excellent written and presentation skills in English.
- Minimum 15 years of Instrument and Control System engineering experiences including at least 5 years solid experience in the design and construction projects.
Excellent analytical, organizational, planning and problem-solving/troubleshooting skills.
